S1E16 Finale - Stick a fork in it.. it’s done! (2023)

In this episode, our season one finale; we talked about how to avoid those who would rather scam you than guide you as well as reviewed a few other topics covered over the past year. We also talked about just how important the inner work is and how much it enhances any form of practice.  
This has been an incredible start for our little baby podcast and we can't thank you all enough for tuning in as well as for all of the positive feedback!  
Season Two of In the Weedz will begin on January 8th, 2024!

S1E15 - Astrology, Herbs and Practice! (with special guest Lindsy)

On this episode we were able to sit down with our favorite Astrologer; Lindsy! We had a great conversation on the intricacies of working with the zodiac as well as touched on aspects of herbalism and practicing authentically within Irish culture.  Lindsy is one of our all-time favorite people and one of the finest astrology authorities in the area. 
She is also holding two classes on Astrology at Pickeyweedz coming up soon with all proceeds to benefit one of our favorite charitable organizations; Queer NEPA!  We had a blast with Lindsy as always - we hope you enjoy the listen!

S1E14 - Wild Women of NEPA and Yoga! (Special guest Kailin of Earth)

On this episode we were fortunate to have the opportunity to sit down with one of our favorite people in the area; Kailin of Earth.  She has a fascinating story and we thoroughly enjoyed visiting with her and learning of her strong foundation in the very roots of Yoga practice and especially in her approach to making Yoga available to a wide variety of people regardless of disability or ability level.  
Kailin is very much what we call a 'do-er' in the community bringing Yoga to the masses, co-organizing one of the largest and most successful gatherings of the year (Wild Women of NEPA) and now opening her very own studio in Clarks Summit, PA!
We had a great time with Kailin and we hope you enjoy the episode as much as we had creating it.

S1E13 - Triggered!

In this episode, we discussed being 'triggered' by others, especially from the onslaught of curated sound bites and media feeds.  We discussed the ramifications of having an emotional reaction to stimuli or provocation and possibly a better way to receive and/or respond to it. 
In addition to a healthy dose of skepticism, it is also a great idea to develop some thicker skin especially when interacting with others.

S1E12 - Hermeticism, Heretics & Heinous Behavior! (Special Guest - Mark Stavish)

In this episode, we interviewed our favorite curmudgeon & expert on Hermetic practice, ceremonial magic, powwow, and the esoteric world in general.
Mark is the founder and director of the Institute for Hermetic Studies based in nearby Wyoming, PA, and is the author of a multitude of excellent esoteric works. 
In addition to writing, he is a highly sought-after national speaker in regard to all things esoteric, occult, and quite frankly intellectual.
We consider ourselves very fortunate, to both be local to him; as well as for him to take the time to come in at Zero Dark Thirty in the morning to speak with us.  Mark does so much for this community and we are thrilled to present this interview.

S1E10 - Weight Training for the Soul

In this episode, we discussed some deeper details of our personal backgrounds including a few traumatic instances that helped to shape who we are and who we are becoming.  We also shared a few hard-won words of experience regarding being precautionary with people and the importance of taking some folks with a Siberian salt mine... 
It's tough sometimes to look back at not-so-pleasant periods of life but it's from the experience of pain, betrayal & loss that we grow the most.  It's also that pain, betrayal & loss that makes for some of the best, most sincere & energetic force for ritual work.
We dug deep for this one.  We hope it is helpful for those out there undergoing similar circumstances.

S1E09 - Discipline & Keeping Silent

In this episode, we discussed the need for discipline and the art of keeping silent.  To Know, To Dare, To Will... To Keep Silent is one of the oldest maxims of Magic right up there with Know Thyself.  We talked about why this is so vital to learn for every practitioner and how to develop it as a skillset for the imposition of one's will. 
We discussed the beige version of The Craft... as well as other common aesthetics and the difference a deep dive into knowledge can bring.
We had a lot of fun making this one and think this subject can be of great help for practitioners new and veteran alike.

S1E08 - Altars, what they are and what they are for...

In this episode, we discussed the differing types of altars and what their use would be.  There are so many different types of altars as well as differing uses from permanent altars in one's home, travel altars, or make-shift on-the-go altars using what one might have on hand.  We discussed decor, especially for honoring a particular holiday as well as touched on those specific types of altars used in evocation or invocation work.
